Project Summary:

A sample analytics dashboard that allows businesses to visually interact with their revenue data, making trends easier to identify and predict future patterns of activity.

Purpose/ Business Task:

Using tools I acquired while creating revenue dashboards for analytics consulting clients, I created this shortened, sample version using randomized data. Businesses usually encountered the issue of having all of the data they needed but were unable to review it in a meaningful way, deeming their crucial data useless. Creating visualizations such as this dashboard allow stakeholders to quickly recognize trends, see growth, and find areas of improvement to continue the success of their business.

Process:

• Using randomized data created with Python, each section was imported into a spreadsheet in Sheets.

• A Looker dashboard was created. Then, each Sheet was connected to the dashboard to allow for live data updates.

• Data was filtered, sorted, and categorized by color to ensure integrity and consistency across all charts.

• Charts were created based on revenue needs for monthly and quarterly business meetings with employees to include revenue over time, per product, monthly/ quarterly /yearly quotas, and returns.

• Date and Product filters were added to allow clients to filter their data and see the precise numbers that they need.
